Do you know that healthy skin metabolizes every 28 days on average and approximately sheds a million dead skin cells every minute? When the skin accumulates too much dead skin, dust, and dirt, the complexion will become not only dull and rough but also lack of luster. Therefore, just as we wash our faces and remove makeup every day, we must exfoliate regularly as well. However, only when we exfoliate correctly can we improve our skin condition and make skin-care products absorbed efficiently so as to build dewy skin.

When Should I Exfoliate?

When your skin starts to become more rough than usual and overproduce oil, it’s time to exfoliate. Approximately exfoliating 1-2 times a week would be fine. Exfoliating too hard or too often will result in allergy, inflammation, and water shortage.

If any of the following conditions occur, stop exfoliating!

  1. Redness
  2. Itch
  3. Sunburn

Just clean faces with only water or cleansers, and reinforce moisturization so as to let the skin recovers.

(Avoid whitening products. They might contain acid which will irritates your skin.)

How to Exfoliate?

  1. Remove makeup thoroughly.
  2. Wash face with a facial cleanser.
  3. Dry the skin, and start to exfoliate from the part that produces oil easily or is prone to acne. Massage lightly with fingertips for 1-2 minutes, and then apply skin care products after washing away.

Recommended frequency for exfoliation

Oily Skin: once every one or two weeks.

Average Skin: once every two or three weeks.
